Speakers include

  • Larissa Waters – Qld Greens lead Senate candidate and an experienced environmental lawyer with considerable experience of opposing inappropriate development applications
  • Barry O’Sullivan – a member of the Taringa Neighbourhood Group, which successfully opposed a high-rise development in Taringa

Some of the areas of concern we have picked up from communities include:

  • Kenmore bypass – possibly stopped for now because the state government is running out of money, but that is not a sure thing
  • Karana Waters – a proposal to turn the Karana Downs golf course into housing
  • Gap Creek Road – actual development appears to be at odds with the stated aim of keeping it as a wildlife-friendly forest road
The meeting is scheduled to start at 2:30pm in the Social Sciences and Humanities Library Conference Room at UQ.
More information can be found at the page for the event.
